A PETITION calling for road safety improvements after a young girl was hit by an ambulance has been lodged with council chiefs with over 3,000 signatures.
The petition was started by John Rourke, of Hexham, after his 11- year-old daughter Katie was hit by an ambulance as she walked across a pedestrian crossing at the town's Allendale Road, an accident blackspot, at the end of June.See the full content of this document
