Luke Donald patently was not ready when he was thrown in with Tiger Woods at the 2003 Open championship. But this week looks different.

At Sandwich, Donald was not in the world's top 100, had played in only four majors and had made the halfway cut in just one of them. "I felt quite nervous on the first tee," he remembers. "But Tiger went right, lost a ball and made seven. I felt a bit better after that."
