CONSERVATIVE leader David Cameron yesterday rejected suggestions that A-list Tory candidates were snubbing North-East seats in favour of standing in safer southern constituencies.

But Mr Cameron, visiting the Nissan factory on Wearside, did concede it would be "very difficult" to win seats in the region.
