Summary


TWO men have gone on trial accused of helping killer Raoul Moat carry out his murderous shooting spree. Prosecutors claim Karl Ness helped Moat carry out the murder of one man and the attempted murder of a policeman during a 24-hour period last summer. Moat shot his former partner Samantha Stobbart, executed her new boyfriend, Chris Brown, then left PC David Rathband blinded by shooting him in his patrol car in Newcastle.

Now Moat's former close friend, Ness, and Qhuram Awan, have gone on trial accused of offences including murder, conspiracy to murder and attempted murder, in relation to the shootings.
