Small business owners in the region could face hefty fines if they fail to send in their tax returns by the end of the month.
Taxpayers who miss the Inland Revenue's January 31 deadline for self-assessment forms risk a fixed penalty of pounds 100, with the prospect of further fines of up to pounds 60 a day for continuing to keep the taxman waiting. Those affected include sole traders, company directors and business partners, as well as anyone in the 40pc income tax bracket.See the full content of this document
