AFTER a summer spent losing players, Durham City start their UniBond Premier campaign boosted by a "major, major signing" in the shape of Chris Moore. Lee Collings' side has seen the likes of Steve Richardson and Stephen Harrison join Gateshead and Blyth Spartans respectively, while a number of players have left for Spennymoor.

That has caused a serious setback to City's pre-season plans but as they prepare to entertain Ashton United this afternoon, Collings is delighted to have tempted former Newcastle United youngster Moore away from Whitley Bay. "Hopefully we're all set for the new season," Collings said. "It's been a blow losing a lot of my players, and I'm still looking to bring a couple more in to strengthen certain areas.
