Earlier this year, Jessica Starkey, a BA (Hons) Travel and Tourism Management student was given the opportunity, via the Travel Bursary scheme, to travel to Sri Lanka and sample life as a Volunteer Teaching Assistant at an international school. The Travel Bursary scheme encourages students to experience international life assists students with funding that enables them to participate in charitable projects in numerous countries across the world. In Jessica"s case it funded her trip to Sri Lanka, including her return flights, travel insurance, entry visa and personal expenses in Sri Lanka such as food and drink.
N.I.C.E International School, where Jessica worked, is located in the suburbs of Negombo, just north of the capital, Colombo. The school is a not for profit, multinational school, serving the internationally oriented expatriate and Sri Lankan community of Negombo. The school provides education for children from Playgroup (2 years) to Year 13 (18 years).See the full content of this document
