Terror Alert Hit British Airways Much Harder Than Thought

British Airways has conceded the terror scare in August cost it far more than initially expected as profits fell more than a quarter.

The airline, which has about 300 staff at Newcastle Business Park, said grounded flights and disruption at airports after the alert had cost it pounds 100m, compared with the pounds 40m first thought.
