Summary

MAJOR subsea installation and trenching contractor CTC Marine Projects is expanding activity in the offshore renewables market. The company recently announced a new contract award for the installation and trenching on the BARD Offshore Wind Farm project. This marks an extension to its activity in the renewable industry, having previously undertaken successful work scopes on the Robin Rigg Offshore Wind Farm and Alpha Ventus. The work scope - for client Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH (NSW) and ultimate client BARD Engineering GmbH - will include the lay, trenching and pull-in of the 80 infield cables into the foundations to connect five megawatt turbines together in strings and, finally, to an AC offshore transformer.

Once operational, the Western North Sea wind farm will produce 400 megawatts of total power and will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm with this size of turbines and to reach a water depth of 40m (131ft).
