REGARDING the letter from Justin Kerswell (Voice of the North, September 15). Despite Mr Kerswell's so-called "Win, Win, Win" situation for a meat-free Britain, we all know what more peas, beans and the like do to our digestive system. This would create even more hot air than he is already spouting.
Does he not realise that over half of Britain is a "less favoured area" only capable of growing grass or heather and only suitable for grazing animals? In the war, we tried to feed ourselves by ploughing out every available acre to grow crops.See the full content of this document
