High temperatures are having a positive effect at new homes in Gateshead as sales of apartments with terraces at the William Leech 55+ St James Court soar. William Leech 55+, a subsidiary of Persimmon Homes which builds homes for people over 55, has seen more sales in St James Village since spring arrived.
Sales adviser Maureen Reay thinks the warm weather has had an impact.
