ASIX-MONTH search to find the best building and conservation projects in the region's property and construction sectors got under way yesterday with the launch of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) 2010 North East Renaissance Awards. The RICS is looking for projects which have made a major contribution to their area, such as the Tyneside Cinema, in Newcastle, which won the top award in 2009 and where the launch event was held.
Described by judges as 'an excellent example of a building conservation project', the Tyneside was awarded the title Project of the Year 2009 earlier this year, as well winning two of the eight specialist categories - Building Conservation and Tourism & Leisure.See the full content of this document
