North furniture retailer SCS Upholstery revealed record results yesterday as the chain continues a push for growth with ambitions to stretch to 70 stores this year.
The Sunderland-based company has bounced back from a costly blunder which saw 12pc wiped off its earnings last year, with pre- tax profits up 63.9pc to pounds 14m. Turnover also jumped 19.6pc to pounds 139.5m on the back of seven new store openings in the year to September 30.
