Summary
I HAVE noticed that recently the various branches of the media are going on and on about more women in Parliament. I shudder at the thought of more Harmans and Smiths and Hewetts gracing our hallowed halls. What I am waiting for though is the first burkha in Parliament.
MPs have just held the first Speaker's Conference for 30 years where they gave their ideas on the way forward in British politics. One recommendation was that half of the MPs leaving after this session should be replaced by women.See the full content of this document
