Summary
Carbon dioxide emissions rose in Britain by more than 2pc between 2002 and 2003, according to new Government figures published today.
Environment Minister Elliot Morley admitted the increase was "disappointing" but insisted the UK was still on track to meet its Kyoto targets. It has pledged that by 2010 CO2 levels will be 12.5pc lower than 1990 levels and that emissions from all greenhouse gases will be 20pc below.See the full content of this document
