A unique miners' banner which had been feared lost is to make its first public appearance in almost 70 years next month.

The "Edith Cavell" banner was first unfurled in the Hare and Greyhound pub in Bowburn, near Durham, in 1920, and continued to feature at the Durham Miners' Gala until at least 1938.
