THE NFU has hit out at dairy co-operative First Milk's decision not to pay future price rises to members who are 'under resignation' to leave the organisation.
First Milk has boosted prices for members supplying to its cheese pool and 'balancing' pool - which can be diverted to cheese production or liquid milk as required - by 0.65p per litre (ppl) and 0.4ppl respectively from August 1. The co-operative now pays its liquid pool suppliers 23.38ppl, the balancing pool receives 23.02ppl and those providing milk for cheese are paid 23.02ppl.See the full content of this document
