POLICE in County Durham have unveiled their new weapon in the battle against anti-social behaviour - 10,000 boiled sweets. Police have bought a consigment of fruit-flavoured sweets bearing the messages Shush and Quiet Please imprinted on the surface.
The sweets will be kept in reserve for busy nights in the city and handed out whenever officers feel revellers need a reminder to keep the noise down as they make their way home.See the full content of this document
