AThe cost of private education is high with the average for a day school being around pounds 3,400 per term. Consequently the sooner funds are allocated to cover this the better. It would be sensible to take advantage of your ISA allowances of pounds 10,200 per tax year as this builds up in a tax advantageous environment. If you have more available to save then I would recommend unit trusts and OEICs. As you get closer to the day when you will be drawing on these funds I would suggest that you move toward lower risk with steady return type investments such as quality fixed interest funds or even cash.
