THE Port of Blyth has a wellestablished reputation as a renewables port, being the site of the first offshore turbines in the UK, a pier-based wind farm and home of the UK's leading renewables research centre.

Already recognised as a key port of entry for onshore turbines coming in from Europe, Blyth is now set to play an important role in the major expansion of the UK's offshore wind energy generation, particularly as it is well placed for the largest development zones off the East coast.
