WORRIED residents in a former pit village plagued by vandals have been given a pledge that a major police crackdown will continue in a bid to bring the offenders to justice.

Law-abiding people in Lynemouth, Northumberland, have been living in fear because of a recent spate of criminal damage which has seen scores of cars having their tyres slashed or mirrors ripped off during the night.
