Summary
The Shell Seekers at Newcastle Theatre Royal until Saturday - Painting is an art, and so is theatre. In The Shell Seekers, three siblings have their loyalties tested when Penelope, their aged mother, decides to dispose of her valuable paintings.
Scenes of their machinations and petty squabbling are interspersed with Penelope's memories of her artist father. I take my hat off to the set designer. Particularly impressive were the quick scenery changes which were executed with simple yet effective sliding panels - themselves suggestive of the artwork mentioned in the play.See the full content of this document
