ALEADING think tank has called for business chiefs to introduce "pay ratios" in a bid to tackle the growing pay divide between the North East's top and bottom earners.

The Institute for Public Policy Research North (IPPR North) has said leaders of newly-formed Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) should take responsibility for the growing gulf between blue collar and white collar workers, to stave of potentially "damaging" repercussions for our society.
