AN appetite among occupiers for freehold ownership over leasing has resulted in nearly a fifth of the first phase of a Northumberland industrial estate being sold five months ahead of completion.
Agents for Northern Developments' Atley Business Park on Cramlington's North Nelson Industrial Estate have sold 3,000 sq ft of the 21,000 sq ft first phase due to be completed by next March. Lambert Smith Hampton, the letting agent on the Cumbrian developer's 53,000 sq ft scheme, has another 1,000 sq ft on the scheme's 21,000 sq ft second phase under offer to would-be buyers.
