CARLISLE United face a battle to keep hold of another of their highly-rated stars after Joe Garner emerged as a target for Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The Cumbrians' record signing is not expected to play until December at the earliest after injuring his cruciate knee ligaments in February, but this does not appear to have discouraged newly- promoted Forest, who are pressing ahead with a pounds 500,000 move for the 20-year-old striker.
