ANORTH East surgeon is travelling hundreds of miles across remote areas of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders to help patients who are morbidly obese.

The bariatric service for patients North of the Tyne is run by Northumbria Healthcare and operates from North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham hospitals with outpatients' clinics held at Berwick Infirmary.
