EVERY year, if it is at all possible, I treat myself to watching the Grand National on the telly. I know that I was pretty rude about racing last week, but the Grand National Steeple Chase is quite simply one of the most exciting happenings in the year. The fact that it is watched in 140 different countries by many millions of people, must bear this out.

They watch the "National" to watch the competition of some of the finest horses in the world, ridden by some of the bravest and best horsemen.
