Summary
THE founding stone of the new Newcastle city library will be laid at a ceremony at the site on John Dobson Street at noon on Monday.
The start of construction on the six-storey building is to be marked by the attendance of the Lord Mayor and Newcastle City Council Leader John Shipley, along with representatives of architects and contractors.
