I wasn't sure about it at first, and I've never been on it, but there's no doubting that the London Eye has become an integral part of the capital's skyline.

Now, just as we've got used to it, it's threatened with demolition. The South Bank Centre, which owns the land on which one part of the Eye stands, has issued it with an eviction notice.
