All of Saturday's hunts in the North-East passed without incident, Northumbria Police said last night.

A spokeswoman said officers had been deployed at hunts taking place at Alnwick, Barrasford, Kirknewton, Kirkwhelpington and Matfen as a matter of "routine policing" and no extra resources had been devoted to monitoring them.
