MATHS lessons were given added value for a hundred pupils yesterday by being held in Durham Cathedral.

Using landmark buildings like the cathedral and The Sage Gateshead for maths exercises is part of a new "Making Architecture Count" project. The Newcastle-based Northern Architecture venture is funded by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment, Arts Council England, the Northern Architectural Association and the Dulverton Trust.
