'Many Officers' Against Move

Summary


Almost two thirds of police officers are opposed to the Government's plans for 24-hour drinking, believing it will lead to an increase in booze-fuelled violence, according to a new survey.

The poll of rank-and-file officers found that 62pc were not in favour of all- hours licensing, with 69pc saying it would create more alcohol-related disorder.
