SPENDING with e-retailers fell this month but the online sector enjoyed a boost from a 16% increase in sales compared to last year, figures showed yesterday. Retailers across the board saw only a 2.1% increase in their sales volumes in August compared with last year's performance, the Office for National Statistics reported last week.
But today, the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index revealed that the picture is rosier for e-commerce, with shoppers spending pounds 3.8bn online in August 2009, an increase of more than pounds 500m on last year.See the full content of this document
