YOUR article "New call for action after fall in street" (The Journal, December 15) highlights the appalling state of the streets and pavements in Durham City, which is a medieval city with a streetscape and paving of a medieval standard.
The appearance and shoddiness of the cheapest possible bodged repairs has reached epidemic proportions, and is to be seen throughout the city from North Road, Framwellgate Bridge, Silver Street, to the Market Place and beyond. Remember these streets lead to the World Heritage Site which is the cathedral and castle, and are trod by thousands of visitors ever year.See the full content of this document
