With neither side able to manage a meaningful shot on goal in the opening 30 minutes, the home side finally broke the deadlock on the powerplay at 32.03 when Glenn Young was on hand to force home.

However, when they gained their first man advantage of the contest soon after, the Warriors were quick to reply with Garry Dowd blasting home just 16 seconds after the Jets player had sat down. Then Stephen Hoult produced a candidate for save of the season.
