THE number of jobs available in the North East has increased compared to last year but redundancies in the public sector means competition for each vacancy has also soared.
There were 3,526 jobs posted with recruitment firm Totaljobs.com in the region in the first three months of the year, compared to 2,978 in the same period last year, a rise of 18%. The North East's increase is just below the 19% national average for the quarter.See the full content of this document
