If you feel in the mood for top-notch Champagne and don't want to buy six bottles at a go from Lovely Bubbly, I warmly recommend Marks & Spencer's Cuve Orpale, Grand Cru, Vintage 1995. A "blanc de blancs" it has a sophisticated and complex smell of toast, lemons and ripe apples followed by a mouthful of tiny, creamy bubbles, which underpin a lovely lingering taste.
