A NEW housing development in one of the most exclusive streets in the region has been given the green light, seven months after being rejected by councillors.

Developer Charles Church North East has been granted approval to build five executive-style homes in Western Way, Darras Hall, Ponteland - where the average house sold for pounds 1.23m between 2004 and 2008.
