A SCHOOLGIRL'S budding artistic talents have been harnessed to help promote a major equestrian event to be staged in Northumberland next month.

Eight-year-old Harri Baker has won a competition to design a poster which will be used in advance publicity for the three-day Burgham Horse Festival near Longhorsley. She was one of 30 pupils at Longhorsley First School invited to take part in the competition by organisers of the showjumping and dressage event, which will be held next month at Burgham Park. They were asked to come up with a suitable 'horsey' theme for the poster, and Harri's entry was chosen as the best by a panel of judges from the event team.
