THE High Court has ruled Government cuts to solar panel subsidies are potentially "unlawful". Last night there were hopes North East jobs could be saved as a judge said the Government's decision to slash feed-in tariffs - paid to those who have a solar panel installed - before ministers finished a consultation on the move was legally flawed. Mr Justice Mitting, sitting in London, said energy secretary Chris Huhne was "proposing to make an unlawful decision".
