A group of young animal-lovers were put through their paces yesterday as they completed a two-week voluntary experience at a long-running animal charity.

As part of National Volunteers Week, 10 young people from the Prince's Trust were given the opportunity to help out at the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.
