THE headteacher of a Gateshead school has developed swine flu, it was confirmed yesterday, as the first death from the virus was reported in London.

Paul Naughton, the head of Sacred Heart RC Primary at Byermoor, who was diagnosed with the condition yesterday morning, was said to be receiving treatment at home and doing well.
