AGRANDMOTHER died after she was knocked down by a car on a night out with friends, an inquest heard. Pauline Elizabeth Edgeworth, of Sunderland, lost her life following an accident outside the Grey Horse pub, in Whitburn, on April 24 last year.

The 59-year-old was hit by a Vauxhall Astra shortly after she left the pub, in East Street, and suffered severe head injuries.
