Rail and bus company Go-Ahead is on track for "satisfactory" full year figures after revealing better-than-expected performance from its trains in the second half of its financial year.

The Newcastle-based group said particularly encouraging revenues and continued good cost control at its Southern and Thameslink rail franchises had contributed to the upbeat performance by its rail division.
