AFTER breaking through 5000 points on Wednesday, the FTSE 100 Index gave up early gains and moved lower over the business day by 16.6 points to close at 4987.7 Holiday companies were in demand with Thomas Cook and Tui Travel both on the leader board. Investment house Collins Stewart stated that it has upgraded its recommendations on both businesses from 'sell" to 'hold" following a strong performance from the airline and travel sectors.
