THE FTSE 100 Index lost ground in early trading yesterday as investors took profits after a good run.
The losses were further consolidated as the US market opened in negative territory after the release of poor consumer spending data. The disappointing economic figures were at odds with earnings from Pfizer and other bellwether stocks, which are largely surprising on the upside.
