Summary
PUPILS from Sunderland High School are preparing for their expedition to Malawi in June 2011. When you think about the day-to- day life at senior school, you don't always think about building or painting classrooms or building desks and teaching equipment in a developing country, you tend to think about coursework, exams and more work in the classroom or library. These pupils from Sunderland High School, aged between 16 and 18 are not only studying for their A-levels to take them on to University and beyond but are fundraising to achieve their target of buying classroom equipment for children living in poverty-stricken Nkhota Kota in Malawi.
Not only are they doing their fundraising within the school and Sunderland city, these teenagers are getting themselves physically and mentally prepared to go to Malawi and lend their hand at actually putting the project together - building desks, plastering and painting classrooms.See the full content of this document
