The People's Kitchen has fed the needy in the city for more than a quarter of a century. But after a ceiling collapsed onto pounds 70,000 new kitchen equipment that had just been fitted after a nine- month fundraising campaign, it has had to close temporarily. The kitchen, on Bath Lane, closed on Thursday after high winds brought masonry down, causing the damage.
