OLDER people in County Durham are missing out on hundreds of pounds of unclaimed council tax benefit.
Some people in Derwentside recently were able to gain more than pounds 600 in backdated benefit payments. Now Durham County Council's Welfare Right team and the revenues and benefits division of Derwentside District Council are joining forces to ensure people receive their entitlements. With partner organisations, such as Age Concern and The Pension Service, they will be at the Lamplight Theatre, Stanley, on Thursday from 10am to 2pm to give confidential advice.See the full content of this document
