A Favourite Haunt

Standing on a hill on the north bank of the River Wear and set in four acres of gardens, which delightfully seem bent on smothering the ancient buildings they surround, Crook Hall is one of the oldest inhabited houses in Durham City, and also one of its best kept secrets.
